HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
Sorry for the delay, but we had an accident out here that totaled our once in a life time SUV that was to be our 'traveling coach' for long distant speaking engagements. We spared no expense when we bought that beautiful thing, but its now history... and so are our speaking engagements...
We have cancelled our first six months traveling appointments, and we are now setting up webinars. The first webinar will be the canine and feline class on Feb 12th. The next will be March 17th for a longer class on Equine Iridology. There will be more classes in April on 'The Ancient Art of Healing'. Please check on our 'classes' page. I am writing small booklets on the art of healing the human, horse dog and cat. These booklets will cover ..iridology, reflexology and doTERRA oils. Such Fun!!!!!
I would like to introduce BrieAnn Day. Bri owns, along with Danette Silva and Shealyn Day, the Serenity Equine Rehabilitation Center in Salinas. These woman have dedicated themselves to the health, happiness and repair of horses of all disciplines.
Bri has been a student of mind since she was a young teenager. Her passion in horses and her education is huge. She is a certified as a Massage therapist used in Rehab along with her knowledge of herbs and nutrition. Bri is certified in Human iridology along with Horse, Dog and Cat iridology. Although her passion is with horses she can help all animals.
Bri has agreed to join us at Through The Eye Institute to take over the animal iridology center. She will be doing our photographs of the horses along with giving a complete computerized report of the horse in question. She will be giving the owner a package that includes the film of the eye along with the computerized iridology report and her recommendations.
She is using essential oils and working (rehab) with our horse Tommy. WOW! What a huge difference she has made already and she has just started his program. She is pretty unbelievable!! If you are interested in making an appointment with Bri please call 831-422-9182 and leave a message... she will call you right back.
Here are links to places I will be for the next few months:

- dÅTerra
- American Council of Animal Naturopathy (ACAN)
- I will also be at 1123 Fontes Lane, Salinas, CA 93907
I will be speaking in central California on “Your Eyes and Your Health” in February, and I will be in your area (AZ) on March 17th and 18th at the Arizona Humane Society doing a workshop. If you are interested in this work shop please contact Kim Haley
In July I’ll be in Northern CA speaking on “Eyes and Oils” and that is as far as I’ve committed myself this year with the exception that I will be doing a class here in Salinas on the eyes of the horse and the oils that I use to help repair the problems that I see. This class is called “Equine Eyes and Oils”. Brianne Nichole (Rehab massage therapist and CEIT) will be with me and will demonstrate using these oils with horses.
Mercedes Colburn, M.A.,N.D.,Ph.D.
Dr. Colburn received her Master of Arts in Vocational Education from the University of California. Berkeley, Doctor of Naturopathy from Trinity College in Indiana, and a Ph.D. in Alternative Medicine from Richmond University in London. England. She studied human iridology with Dr. Bernard Jenson, who is the founder of the modern-day art of looking at the eye. After completing her studies, she wrote several books on human and animal iridology. In addition she founded "Through The Intentional." Later, having become experienced in the science of herbology, she became a practicing herbalist and owner of an herb farm. It was during this time two of her prized horses died from colic. This encouraged her to combine her fields by researching how iridology may assist with diagnosing diseases in horses and how the use of alternative medicine may heal them. Iridology has become a familiar tool that Dr. Colburn uses and has taught hundreds of other therapists as well to use effectively. When she sought a veterinary consultant, she collaborated with Dena Eckhart, DVM, to
create the equine “iridology grid”. Together they learned that the intestinal system of horses (as in humans) lay the secret of how
debilitating diseases begin. Proving the effectiveness of the “equine iridology grid” by means of veterinarians, necropsies, and pathology labs has been a journey of great value. "Through The Eye International" offers this "Equine Iridology grid" as a much-valued tool for equine veterinarians and therapists.
I have accepted a position with Kingdom College of Natural Health as a professor of animal iridology. This guaranties that the science of animal iridology will live on and grow. It also means that people will not look at you so funny when you tell them what kind of work you do! Kingdom College is a beautiful college and is the only college of natural medicine that can teach the animal science of iridology. Please check them out. They are offering some great courses.
I'm proud to introduce our new line of Chinese herbs now on our other website. For an introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine, we have provided a PDF flyer.
